On May 16th Leergeld.EU, an initiative from Sander Loones MEP,  organised its third study day with Danielle DiMartino Booth, Geert Noels and Stéphane Rottier. Here are the videos.

 

American former Federal Reserve insider Danielle DiMartino Booth gave a keynote speech on how and why the world's central banks need to normalize monetary policy. Danielle DiMartino Booth is an economic consultant and commentator. After working on Wall Street, she served as Advisor to President of the Dallas Fed Richard W. Fisher until his retirement in 2015.

A panel witht Stéphane Rottier (IMF, ex-ECB) and Geert Noels (Econopolis) chaired by Lawrence Urbain  discussed the situation in the Euro Area.

Geert Noels is a macro-economist and a much sought after commentator on financial and economic matters. In 2009 he founded Econopolis, an asset manager and economic consultancy house. He described his view of the financial-economic future in his best-selling book Econoshock. The content of that book is the basis and guiding principle for the strategies of Econopolis.

Stéphane Rottier is a lawyer and has a Ph.D. in economics. He is currently an adviser at the IMF office in Brussels where he focuses on Brexit issues. Before he was chief adviser to Peter Praet, the current chief economist of the ECB for five years, and he worked at the IMF in Washington for almost five years. He is also a co-founder of the think tank Bruegel.
